Alien Escapade • Episode 0836 - The Tripping Up: Bod, Captain, Dr Kali, Kara, Reception, Skipper, Tetra, Vanna, Yafo ~ 10 {Space Dock Restaurant ~ 6} ``Vanna: How are you Skipper? ``Skipper: I cannot get rid of that burnt smell, and I still have a dry throat. ``Captain: I have piped in Dr Kali. Kara we will have the usual and Skipper can have anything he likes on my tab. ``Kara: 4 usual ones, plus Skipper? ``Skipper: Same again quin. ``Kara: Zaa. --- Drinks and food, and Captain there is a rumpus going on in reception and Yafo has gone to sort it out. ``Dr Kali: Quano all. Skipper, shall we go over to the corner where we will be alone. ``Skipper: Zaa. ``Dr Kali: Some basic questions. Did you have face masks on? ``Skipper: It was total darkness, everything had failed. ``Dr Kali: What about the emergency lights? ``Skipper: Those too had failed. ``Dr Kali: In that case you are coming back with me now, for a full check up. ``Skipper: Zaa. (Space Dock Control ~ 3} ``Reception: I am sorry sir, but I cannot take your old card, in payment for your ticket. ``Bod: I want to see the Manager now, as I have an important meeting, that I must not miss. ``Reception: [Presses button under desk] ``I have summoned my Manager, quin wait over there, so I can serve the other customers. ``Yafo: Zaa? ``Reception: A Bear has the old style Scroll-card. ``Yafo: Okay --- Quano Sir. ``Bod: I have to be at Hobbs City which is why I am taking the Saucer. ``Yafo: The updated card system has been in place now for over a month. Therefore our computer system will not accept it. ``Bod: So what do you expect me to do? ``Yafo: You have time to take the Monorail to Hobbs City, if you take a Hopper-taxi. And there is a card office there. ``Bod: Typical, and I will not forget this! {Space Dock Restaurant ~ 6} ``Yafo: A Bod wanted to use his old Scroll-card. It was fortunate that I did not have to tell him that the evening run had been cancelled, as I persuaded him to use the Monorail. So what has happened to Skipper? ``Captain: He has been taken to the Medics Centre, and I wait for Dr kali's report. Malcolm and Kirin will be on the morning run in the S182. ``Vanna: Can you sign up my log book, whilst you are here? ``Captain: Zaa. Blimey, you are filling it up! ``Vanna: I have been busy. ``Captain: You have jumped up to 336 hours in Nelly. ``Vanna: It seems right. ``Captain: Many hours in Cosmo already! How did you get on landing Cosmo at Space Cavern, because that did surprise me? ``Vanna: It went very well, but what will happen when we lift off with S172 in the way? ``Captain: Oh heck, I will have to have a think. ``Tetra: I have one solution! {Vanna's Trullo ~ 1} - [Mails] ``Vanna: A mail message to Cheb. Subject - Door to Door. Dear Cheb, do you have a passenger door in the Cirrus1, with a transit passenger tube? I can get all the reels of cable loaded at this end whilst Cosmo1 in on the ground within the next couple of qefs, but I am stuck at your end. Therefore do you have any means of transference so we connect our two Saucers together? That being Cosmo to Cirrus? Regards Vanna. Sent. [Later] A reply from Cheb. Subject - Door to Door. !!Dear Vanna, we have never used the passenger door, and we do not know how safe the Air Door is. I will do some ground checks, but I think an alternative solution ought to be found. The only other thing to do is to land Cosmo here, but I doubt that we have the clearances. However I will investigate. Regards Cheb. --- I will forward mails to Tetra, to see if she has a brainwave, otherwise we will have to use the S182. I now see what Tetra is getting at! Another mail message to Cheb. Subject Cargo. Dear Cheb, Tetra has suggested wearing space suits and to lowering the draw bridges and transferring the cargo across that way, which sounds a feasible option.
