Alien Escapade º Episode 0616 - The Accountable: Captain, Dalbir, E1-Qualla, E2-Mora, E3-Jota, E4-Udal, Malcolm, Jarry, Leila, Urga, Vanna, Zola ~ 12 {Elders Committee Meeting ~ 4} ``Elder 3: Finances, I hand you over to Udal. ``Elder 4: Zarfs. Basically we are broke! [Chit-chat] ``Elder 3: Order! ``Elder 4: We are still solvent, but are running very low on funds and I do not want to go into our reserves as that would start alarm bells ringing. Therefore we have to claw some money in, and I make the following recommendations to tide us over, as we will get it back. The fissure was the last straw, and we all agreed not to hold it up. 1} Your monthly allowance is reduced to ¢1,000. 2} No new projects for consideration until the end of the financial year. 3} I will only finance two Saucer trips per month, and not three. 4} Anything urgent, or you think you need a requirement of funds, you will have to come through me for authorization. I have made some priority changes to existing projects, so I have been able to delay start dates. I have made one exception and that is to Vanna's Land Plot, which includes everything, that the access road is to be built. Jove, is instructing all building and work orders of the changes. ``Elder 1: I think this is a good decision as we have been spending money like water. ``Elder 2: We accepted these huge challengers, therefore we must accept the consequences of the outcome. ``Elder 3: I too believe we have been going too fast and need to slow down. I also thank Urga for his on-going appraisal and bringing us the bad news. ``Elder 4: I will go and see our suppliers, direct, and explain things. ``Elder 3: Do we have your approval? [Zaa's]. ``Elder 1: Zaffre friends, and I am liking the new developments. {Space Dock Tower, Meeting ~ 5} ``Captain: There has been initial cutbacks in the budget, which means there will only be two trips a month paid for by the Oligarchy. ``Kirin: I am pleased with my exams coming up. ``Dalbir: I too need to spend more time on the fundamentals. ``Malcolm: Shorter trips are far better when you are a trainee. ``Captain: Well you took that much better than I expected. ``Jarry: I too need time in the cockpit, but on the ground as not many of the instruments are marked up clearly and I get confused. ``Captain: You should have told me about this before! ``Jarry: We have all been too busy. ``Captain: Go now and start creating temporary stickers, and once we all agreed, I will get Space Cavern to knock us up some new proper larger labels. {Vanna's Trullo, Meeting ~ 4} ``Vanna: We have all been saying we need to slow down and with the new cutbacks, we now have to decide on whether we go to Algol or Cepheus or do we miss Earth out and do one to Algol and one to Cepheus? ``Scotty: I would rather go to Algol. ``Zola: Me too. ``Leila: Sometimes Earth has a 5 week month, although we have them all the time. So we could make it every 6 weeks, which would mean we could slot in a trip to Cepheus. ``Vanna: We must show that we are toeing the line, and we will only go at the last resort. ``Zola: We need a rest. ``Leila: I too need time to consolidate on things, and the changes happening. {Tromp & Co ~ 2} ``Urga: whose turn is it for lunch today? ``Udal: Yours, as we are broke, which is why I have come to see you! ``Urga: Oh. Okay, you win. ``Udal: Good. These are the recommendations I have put in place and they have been approved. I would like you to have a run through and see what else we can do, as in delaying tactics, until we can build up the cash flow. ``Urga: Certus. I am not surprised. ``Udal: Everything wants to come in at once. ``Urga: That often happens. I think you ought to put everyone on the canal arm extension. ``Udal: We can try and implement that, if the working groups agree. I will talk to Jove.
