Alien Escapade ºº Episode 0215 - The Rotor: Leila, Ops, Qualla, Sandy, Scotty, Vanna, Zola, ~ 07 {S172 In Flight to Space Cavern ~ 2} - [South End Axis] ``Zola: It is a nice change to have the local crew and Skipper with us today! ``Qualla: The Captain is on a rest day, as he did not get one yesterday. ``Vanna: Nor did I! ``Leila: I must support that regardless. {Ops Centre ~ 7} ``Ops: Zenden. Good Zibo to you all. This will make an interesting day, and I welcome you. It is nice to have some raw recruits for a change, and I will allow you to set your own limits on what you feel comfortable with on what you can achieve. I will take you through health and safety issues first. Then after a short break my team and I will take you through some simple first aid procedures and breathing exercises, as this is essential for survival. However, this is not for the general public, and you are only here because you do regular runs to Earth. I hear from the Captain that your gravity is much higher. Any questions? --- Qaa? Good and that will get us off to a good start. ``Leila: They will come later. ``Ops: We will use the wind tunnel first! The trick is to keep your head down when you get to the walls and roll yourself under like turning around underwater at the end of the pool. Otherwise twist yourself around and let your buttocks take the thump. Always go to the right to miss collisions. Do not put your hands out to try and save yourself. So please put on these flying suits in the changing rooms. ``Vanna: This reminds me of The old King’s Cross Thames link Station with the droughts. ``Leila: It was always a cold station. [1st time later] ``Ops: You all appeared to have enjoyed yourself? ``Zola: Zaa. Brilliant. ``Scotty: It looks easy! ``Qualla: exhilarating experience. ``Sandy: Overwhelmed. ``Vanna: I always wanted to do it. ``Leila: Different to what I expected would happen. ``Ops: The simulation of weightlessness can only really be created in our outer atmosphere. The Captain might agree to allow to do it in the S172, but I did not suggest it. In the meantime, the oxygen level will be lower and there will be a little help from some helium, and hot air, so your voices may change pitch. The wind will now become a suction force and it will allow you to float around. It will take one unit to get up to speed, and to watch for the droughts and try and keep away from the vents until the pressure builds up. [2nd time later] ``Qualla: That was enjoyable. ``Scotty: I now know what the Doctor means, by being fit. ``Vanna: Fabulous feeling. ``Sandy: Out of this world. ``Leila: Fascinating experience. ``Zola: Can I come back again? ``Sandy: I hope that my Osteopenia doesn’t get worse here in Cassiopeia! ``Ops: I am impressed. Now for the ultimate centrifuge. I will limit you all to one unit each, inside and at low speed of 7-10g. You can stop at any time, and it will take a couple of minutes to change over to the next Being. So who is going first? ``Zola: Me? [They proceed in turn]. ``Sandy: My Aunt wouldn’t let me go on these at the fair, although they went up and down when I was a kid, although this one goes sideways. ``Scotty: I hope I will never need it. ``Qualla: A very useful survival exercise. ``Vanna: An experience in survival of the fittest. ``Leila: A life safer, knowing what to expect under extreme conditions. ``Ops: Here is a certificate to say that you have completed stage one of the course. Have a good trip home. {S172 In Flight to Space Dock ~ 6} - [Some time later] ``Scotty: I ache all over! ``Zola: My back is killing me! ``Vanna: I have cramp in my legs. ``Qualla: I am having trouble moving my shoulders around. ``Leila: Other than being a bit disorientated, I am fine. ``Sandy: I thought I was good, with all the swimming and the weight training I do, but not any more! ``Vanna: I am not cooking, so we will stop at Kara’s for dinner, as I need to relax.
